Dave Ferguson

Mr. Ferguson is an Associate at FireWise Consulting and brings with him over 38 years of experience as a Fire Service Executive Officer OR Fire Service Professional. Dave was the Fire Chief of Cowichan Bay Volunteer Fire Rescue and is a current National Board Member of the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada. During his tenure as Fire Chief, Dave led a team of over thirty dedicated volunteers, implemented BC Fire Code and NFPA Standards and also served as the Local Assistant to the Fire Commissioner. While serving as Deputy Fire Commissioner for the province of British Columbia, Dave coordinated and supervised all activities carried out by the Office of the Fire Commissioner including fire investigations, fire inspections, code interpretations, public education, and stakeholder relations as well as Executive Director, Mitigation within the framework of Emergency Management BC. In his various vocational and volunteer positions, Dave has gained considerable experience in the role of chair of important meetings including public consultation meetings. Dave understands the complexities of community projects and how the public requires accurate information concerning project approval.
